Signal snowboards lightup board9/7/2023 Her professional interests focus on the teaching of science to meet the diverse needs of students, and her current projects include planning and teaching science and technology to middle school girls in summer camps (STEM camp for girls), and collaborating with a Syracuse University Biology professor to develop teaching modules in zebra fish embryology and the effect of various toxins on zebra fish development. A strong advocate for science education for all learners, she involves her students in the exploration of science beyond the four walls of the classroom, and she collaborates with her school community and professors at Syracuse University to provide hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences for students. Ali has been teaching for 13 years, and teaches Living Environment and Syracuse University Project Advance Biology at Nottingham High School in Syracuse. She is currently working on a Certificate in Advance Study in Educational Leadership at Syracuse. Naomi Sarkin-Noma Ali earned her BS in Biology and Education from the University of Jos, Plateau State Nigeria (West Africa) and Master of Science in Teaching from Syracuse University. Naomi Ali Master Teacher Emeritus Syracuse City School District Albright and her Professional Learning Team colleagues presented at the 2014 NYS Master Teacher Annual Professional Development Conference sharing both their extended study of the NYS Math Modules and the workshops they designed for teachers in their region to engage in extended study of this content topic. Albright spoke on behalf of the NYS Master Teacher Program at Governor Andrew Cuomo's annual State of the State Address. She was also selected to lead math workshops for STEM students at SUNY Cortland and Syracuse University as part of the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program. Albright has been a Regional Scoring Trainer and Leader for the 8th Grade NYS Mathematics Test. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she has welcomed seven student teachers and over 20 practicum students into her classroom, and has coached soccer, basketball and track. Albright teaches Algebra 1 and Mathematical Financial Management at Cortland Junior-Senior High School, and currently serves as the Chair of the Mathematics Department. She is looking forward to collaborating with other teachers in the NYS Master Teacher Program and sharing best practices in educational research to meet the needs of all students.Ībbey Albright Master Teacher Emeritus Cortland Enlarged City School DistrictĪbbey Albright earned her BS in Mathematics and Adolescent Education from SUNY Cortland and her MEd from Walden University, and holds permanent certification in 7-12 Mathematics and birth-6 Elementary Education. Ailport is a life-long learner and an optimistic problem solver. If she is not exploring new places or whipping up new recipes, you'll likely find her curled up with an iced coffee and a good book. Ailport has worked with NYSED as an item writer for NYS 3-8 math assessments and was a member of a Holy Disruption cohort, sponsored by the United Methodist Women, focused on disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline. She is passionate about developing self determination skills in students with disabilities and invites students to their CSE meetings. Ailport is an active member in her school's sunshine committee. She has co-facilitated a math tutoring program with SUNY Cortland freshman and elementary students, hosted student teachers, and mentored first year teachers. Ailport is member of her school's guiding coalition, serves as the K-6 special education department liaison, and is also a Google certified educator. She has been teaching for since 2013 and is currently a 6th grade math special education teacher at Randall Middle School in Cortland, NY.
